…the Very Inspiring Blog Award

A big thank you to…

Amanda at http://insidethelifeofmoi.wordpress.com

…for kindly nominating me for The Very Inspiring Blog Award. Your blog is one of my most frequent reads. It’s also a perfect blend of serious subjects mixed with witty outbursts that always make me laugh, smile and think.

award-6My 12 nominee’s are

(no particular order)

Margaret at http://verybangled.com – Margaret’s blog is in one word – GREAT. Her posts are always beautifully introduced by a stunning combination of bracelets from her vast collection. Margaret’s has a stunning good taste. Her posts and writing always make me smile. A great blog to follow!

Sarah at http://andthisiswhyiwilldiealonesurroundedbycats.com – Sarah is another one of my frequent reads. Her blog is a perfect mix of art with funny, witty writing – Sarah has an amazing sense humor. A great blog and a pleasure to follow!

West at http://west517.wordpress.com – One of my favorite photography blogs. I really like West’s pictures and her artistic approach to night pictures. Her compositions and tonalities are always great. I drop by her blog frequently and always find myself appreciating her visual take on life.

Katarina at http://katarinawohlfart.com – Katarina is a great blogger from Sweden. I’m a frequent in her photography blog and always enjoy her photographs of Swedish landscapes and her travel reports. Katarina’s blog is in English but it also has some sections and comments in Swedish which I find fascinating. A really inspiring blog!

Jane at http://cupidorcats.wordpress.com – Jane’s blog introduction states that she will get all up inside your head and won’t leave until you ask nicely. That’s pretty much how I’d resume it as well, so no further introductions required… Trust me – Click follow…

Grace at http://mgrace58.wordpress.com – Quick tips on workouts? Check! Interesting quotes? Check! What’s the latest, coolest thing going on the other side of the pond? Check! Grace’s blog is a really enjoyable site and one that I recommend.

Eric at http://tonningsen.wordpress.com – Eric’s blog is truly inspirational. From his quotes to his life experience, Eric shares a lot of wise knowledge through his blog. I know Eric does not do award posts but I had to mention him on this list as his blog is truly inspirational.

Nad at http://hugsxheart.wordpress.com – Another favorite blog of mine (I’m a frequent). Nad is a great read and always reminds me of some of my closest, old friends (those that you can trust for life). A recent follow which feels like it’s been with me for years. Definitely recommended.

Anna at http://olivevienna.com Anna was born in Brazil and lives in Canada. Her blog is a recent find but it’s already part of my daily reads. I really like her blog and fully recommend it.

Junkchuck at http://oldroadapples.wordpress.com/about/ I love opinionated people – associated to a good dose of humor, that sort of combination has the potential for some serious blogging Nirvana and this is exactly the case. Another great blog.

Paulo at http://cottidianus.wordpress.com Paulo’s blog is a wonderful photography blog and truly inspiring. I absolutely love his black & white photography. Fully recommended.

Gin at http://beautifuliceland.wordpress.com  I love Gin’s travel blog. Her travel photography is really great and I’ve been following her blog for quite some time. Another clear recommendation.

So, what are the rules?

  1. Nominate 12 blogs which inspire you and will, without a doubt, inspire others.
  2. Display the award logo on your blog.
  3. Answer the eleven questions provided by the nominator.
  4. Notify your nominee.
  5. Thank the person who nominated you and include a link to their blog in your post.

My questions & Answers

1) How would you describe yourself?
Persistent, either day dreaming or obsessively focused (nothing in between), short attention span.

2) If your life were a movie, who would play you?
Jake Gyllenhaal.

3) Can you remember your last dream?
I dreamt I woke up and had a stitched scar in the middle of my chest that looked like I received a new heart or something. I rarely dream but when I do, most of my dreams tend to be on the weird side. It inspired one of my recent songs.

4) If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
North Pole. I love the cold.

5) Describe your ideal day
During holidays, next to the sea, a nice lunch with fresh fish, a good wine and the best of companies.

6) What was your first pet?
A hamster. I used to get up on Saturday mornings to clean his little cage and give him a bath (he always loved it).

7) If you could eat one thing for a month, what would it be?
Risotto. I could live from eating it for a full year. Unfortunately too high on carbs.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be?
I’d love to be able to fly. Unassisted flying like birds do.

9) What are your favorite pizza toppings?
Just a simple cover of Mozzarella cheese.

10) Are you a morning or night person?
I’m a night person. In fact extreme summer daylight gives me a headache.

11) How do you want people to remember you when you’re gone?
I don’t spend much time considering what others think about me and I’m still around. Therefore the concept of hypothetically thinking how I want people to remember me when I’m gone is an alien concept to me.

Questions for my nominee’s

1) What’s your favorite piece of modern tech?
2) What is your dream job?
3) If someone granted one wish, what would you wish for?
4) If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?
5) If you’d have to visit only one internet site for an entire year, which one would you choose?
6) Are you a home type person or a party type?
7) What’s your favorite music instrument and can you play it?
8) What’s your preference: lots of mates or a few best friends?
9) What’s your best childhood memory?
10) Did you ever own a pet?
11) What’s your preference: black & white photos or color?

    • Ahahah, will share it once it’s ready 😉
Risotto I just eat it with everything – fish, meat, mixed with mushrooms. I love it in all possible combinations / recipes.

    • Thank you for nominating me, Amanda. That was really special. Yes! It’s pretty crazy, feels like we met back in school days and were friends for years. Interesting you mention, I’m rarely afraid of these dreams, sort of used to them in a way. I always find it interesting what my mind will pull off next 😀

      • Yes, I agree! Feels like we have known each other for much longer. I guess this is the beauty of blogging – we get to share peices of our life with eachother 🙂

I haven’t had any strange dreams lately, but when I do, i’ll let you know! I’m thinking about writing a post about dreams (in the future!) They fasinate me!

Anyway! Congrats again, and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

      • Indeed! Blogging is great especially when it puts people in touch that have similar interests and backgrounds.
Looking forward to your post on dreams 😀

Thank you, Amanda – have a great evening and enjoy your Sunday!

  1. Congratulations André!! I adored this post and got to know more about and I could not help to laugh on #4, wanna switch because I live in North Pole? Haha I’m also a night person (me saying 2 AM) ! Thank you so much for the nominee and really sweet words! I’ll fix a post tomorrow ! Have a great Sunday! Lots of love ❤

  2. Thanks for the nomination, I’m really flattered 🙂 I don’t think I will have time to reply though, since I’m not really into this blog award thing, but thank you again ! 🙂 🙂 🙂

I would like to visit North Pole as well, but this winter, I’m heading towards Lapland. I love the cold as well and I don’t do very well when it’s too warm outside.

I’ll have a look at your blog recommendation, I only know half of them 🙂

    • Awards do take time from the blogging itself. In my case I figure I’ll do a few and will likely use the no award approach once I went through them once. It does help in discovering new interesting blogs through the nomination process though. Looking forward to see your pictures from Lapland 😀

  3. I’m flattered to be included among such fine bloggists, and will certainly participate as soon as I can–although I have no freaking idea how to get that logo on the sidebar of my page. Maybe I can have special page for my collection of awards–all one of them! Thanks for the nomination! I accept. And perhaps more importantly: thanks for turning me on to some other good blogs I can enjoy, including yours.

  4. Reciprocal inspiring. That’s how I feel about your blog and posts, as well as your kind nomination. And while you’re enjoying arctic vortices, I’ll bask in warmth and sun, anytime, anywhere. 🙂

    • Thank you so much, Eric. Cold has arrived to Germany and in a way it makes me appreciate the warmth of a hot tea or a nice blanket and a book. So I guess it’s still about warmth! Have a great start into the new week.

  5. Yay! Thanks for the nomination! I would so choose flying as a super power, hands down… or up or whatever, lol. And yes cheese and lots of cheese on my pizza please! ❤ I've done this blog before, but I figured I would answer your questions here in a comment 😉

    1) What’s your favorite piece of modern tech? Right now, anything that doesn't run Windows 8.
    2) What is your dream job? Hmmm… Tough to say at this point as I am currently looking into different fields of work at the moment. But I do love the idea of being a sailing instructor.
    3) If someone granted one wish, what would you wish for? I would wish for those who haven't found happiness to have it.
    4) If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be? Stupid people.
    5) If you’d have to visit only one internet site for an entire year, which one would you choose? Well poo I have a online job so I guess I'm forced to pick that! 😦
    6) Are you a home type person or a party type? By this do you mean introvert or extrovert? I'm probably more party… if the party is at home. 😆
    7) What’s your favorite music instrument and can you play it? The drums or maybe the piano… I'm not sure I never played any instruments… I was in choir.
    8) What’s your preference: lots of mates or a few best friends? A few best friends. All the mates in the world can't make up what you get from your best friend.
    9) What’s your best childhood memory? My father taking me sailing for the first time.
    10) Did you ever own a pet? I did and still do.
    11) What’s your preference: black & white photos or color? I really like sepia tone, if I can choose that? 😉

Thanks again Andre!! I love these awards and I love your blog!

    • Ahahaha, that cracked me up – hands down, or up, or whatever! Ahahaha Awesome, flying would be an awesome power to have.

I love your answers! Thank you for going through it even if you already did this one. I solved my Windows problem 2 years ago… by getting a Macbook 😀 Best tech decision I ever made after getting an iphone.

Really great you mentioned sailing – I have a sailing course on my to-do list (likely to be next year in Portugal). Great choice on the photographic front, sepia and B&W are my favorites too!

Thank you, Michelle! Thank you for your blog and for taking the time to put this together. You are great and your blog mirrors that! Have a great time with lots of love and lots of FUN!

      • Hehehe! Omg the technologies are so verse it’s hard to decide what I want to upgrade to. I don’t think I’m doing another PC, just so so many issues with PC. I have been looking at tablets though. My sister has an iPad and loves it and my friend has recently gotten a Samsung tablet and is loving that too.

You must try sailing! You wont regret it! It’s a very freeing sensation when you get the wind in your sails and it almost feels like you’re flying!

Aww thank you so much! Thanks for being here, your presence here is so uplifting and your blog does a wonderful job of reflecting that! Again thank you so much Andre!

      • ipads are a great option if one doesn’t need MS Office and the like. I have a PC and between my iphone and macbook l rarely even look at that grey box.

I tried sailing a few years a go and absolutely loved it. Still remember it to this day. I’m originally from Portugal and I think we all have a bit of sailor in us probably passed on into our genes after hundreds of years sailing and being taught about the Portuguese maritime history. I also tried paragliding and you’re right – the wind power makes sailing very similar to the feeling of flying. All that natural power creating such a hypnotic and smooth forward movement.

I really appreciate your words, Michelle. It’s people and bloggers like you that help make the blogging experience as amazing as it is!

      • Yeah see, MS Office is a must for my job… but I’m still holding true to my convictions, no Windows 8!! lol

Portugal sounds like a great place! I love traveling, seeing the world. I took a lot of Anthropology in college and I think that influenced me a lot in my decisions and mind set.Yes, it’s that feeling, so worth it every time you go out there. Your first sailor’s knot too, can’t forget that, haha. There are still some knots I have no idea how to do 😛

Thank you Andre! I like sharing a little of my life here in written form. ❤

      • I got MS Office for my Macbook and it works beautifully, only after ensuring I would have Office that I made the change (like you, I really need MS Office) 😃
Anthropology is a great area of studies. A good friend of mine took a university degree in Anthropology. Gives a great insight into the human mind and nature.

I’m sure all our readers love reading what you share! Life is short and there’s so much we can learn by reading and listening to other people’s experiences so thank you for sharing!

      • Hehehe, I pretty much need Office to function 😉

Cultural Anthropology I must say was just so insightful. I think it really did help me develop into the person I am today. Not to come off as cocky or anything, but I think I’m awesome! 😛

Thank you Andre, I really like that I can maybe just even help someone with posting motivation or sharing a personal experience. Another way to grow and move forward and learn, absolutely.

      • Ahahahhah not cocky at all. You are awesome! It’s the sharing of personal experiences and the cultural way of looking at the world. Interesting how reading blogs gives an insight how different cultures look at issues and respond to the world around them. I guess it all links to Anthropology after all. Have a great, great weekend!

  6. A beautiful award for a beautiful space!! Thank you for always being so kind about my blog!! ♡♡ ps …I have some CRAZY night motel images coming soon 🙂
