The new year

Lately I’ve been pretty overwhelmed with all the developments at the end of my 2014. Most have been amazing and to an extent, life changing. From recent home ownership in Germany to receiving my family from Portugal to celebrate Christmas, it’s been a hectic but thrilling time and a great way to close the year.

Looking back at 2014 I cannot help but feeling grateful for what life has thrown at me during this amazing year. From the good to the less positive – I learnt from it all.

To all my lovely blog followers, the recent ones and those that have kept with me for long (even despite my occasional moments of silence) I’d like to thank you for your encouragement, your comments, your feedback, your likes and all your support. I hope I can keep deserving your blog reading time in the new year. For now, I’d like to take the opportunity to wish you a great entry in the new year and a successful and happy 2015 with lots of happiness, love, health and all the very best that life has to offer!

Happy 2015

Edgar Poe

There open fanes and gaping graves
Yawn level with the luminous waves;
But not the riches there that lie
In each idol’s diamond eye
Not the gaily-jewelled dead
Tempt the waters from their bed;
For no ripples curl, alas!
Along that wilderness of glass
No swellings tell that winds may be
Upon some far-off happier sea
No heavings hint that winds have been
On seas less hideously serene.

Faces for the so called “Casualties”

There are several meanings for the same word. I guess that lately the word is used to describe faces, people, sons, fathers…

#1 (n.) That which comes without design or without being foreseen; contingency.
#2 (n.) Any injury of the body from accident; hence, death, or other misfortune, occasioned by an accident; as, an unhappy casualty.
#3 (n.) Numerical loss caused by death, wounds, discharge, or desertion.

Anyway…. To put some faces on the word, here goes a link. 3000 faces of casualties…

Faces of the Dead in Iraq

Here you can only count the American loss… I guess Iraqi civilians wouldn’t fit the square…

…Back again

Ok.. So it took 1 and a half month but it’s official. I now have internet at my place and it’s finally working. For 26€ a month I have to say I’m quite happy with the speed of Alice DSL. The process to get it was truly a pain, but the 16 Mb/s are remarkable. Did a small test with a 3 mega file and the speed was good. Loading websites is a click and go. Just hope the service continues like this. In the meanwhile, having internet means I will finally be able to start writing again in my blog.

—~|||~— Fast fowarding —~|||~—

Ok… For the ones asking… —~|||~— Fast fowarding —~|||~— set of videos of my SDV (Short Digital Videos) is not forgotten. I’ve been having troubles with time (or lack of it, AKA the most old excuse in the world to not procede foward, but in this case, entirely true), I will try to put the 3rd and last video of this series till the end of this month. Until then, have fun with the other 96 posts. Take care and thanks for the 2000 visits.

Think, don’t think. See, don’t see. Listen, ignore. Ask the most stupid question and the answer will answer your problem. What’s really important is always closer than you think and the truth is usually under your nose.
